Varsity Letter
LETTERING IN A VARSITY SPORT
Earning a Varsity Letter is a great honor and accomplishment, there are certain requirements in each sport that have to be obtained. It is up to each sport to determine whether or not they will allow 6th and 7th graders to earn a varsity letter. If an athlete performs at the Varsity level and makes a significant contribution to the team, the sport can allow him/her to earn a varsity letter regardless of grade level from 6th-12th grade.
The first time you earn a letter, you will receive a PAC letter and one pin from the sport you are lettering in (if you have already earned a letter in another varsity PAC sport, you will only receive the sports pin). For every additional year an athlete earns a letter, they will receive a bar which is put on the letter under the sport pin already given to them.
Each sport follows certain guidelines to determine who receives a varsity letter.
Guidelines for each sport are listed below.
Golf
Post a top-four score in a varsity match.

A player would need to play 45 minutes in 5 varsity games in order to letter.

- Respectful to coaches, teammates, and opponents. (The coach can withhold a letter from an athlete who has complied with 1 & 2 above but did not represent himself and the team well.)
Requirements to earn a career letter (only available your senior season, if you played a minimum of 3 seasons and if you did not earn a letter in any of the previous seasons):
- The player must accumulate 45 points. Points are accumulated in the following manner.
- Making the varsity squad – Five points for each season the player is on the varsity team (if the athlete makes the varsity squad for 3 seasons this would be 15 points)
- Innings Played – 30 innings played minimum. One point per inning played (this is cumulative so if the athlete plays 10 innings as a Sophomore, 11 as a Junior, and 12 as a Senior, the athlete would build up 33 cumulative points. The innings do not have to be evenly spread over their career (i.e. they could play 3 innings as a Sophomore, 8 innings as a Junior, and 19 as a Senior to accumulate the necessary 30 points).
