Panther Baseball Improves to 3-0 Besting Columbia High School

The Panthers improved to 3-0 on the young season with a convincing victory at Columbia High School on Tuesday night.  The Panthers scored eight runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back.  They added seven more runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth inning to close out the scoring. While the Panthers were scoring at will, Panther pitching kept the Capitals off of the scoreboard.  Dan Beam pitched two innings to secure the win, not allowing a hit.  Micaiah Hinkle followed Dan to the mound, pitching two innings, allowing one hit.

The Panthers had ten hits in the victory and were led by David Hucks who had three.  Others with hits include Avery Blevins, McKinley Proctor, Micah West, Caleb Green (double), Dan Beam, Connor Shealy and Zach Thurber (this was Zach’s first hit at the varsity level).

Game Notes: The Panthers improve to 3-0.  Dan Beam’s pitching record is now 1-0.  The Panthers had thirteen RBI’s led by David Hucks with four.  The Panthers had 26 productive at bats.
