PAC Basketball Month in Review – JV

The JV Panthers put up a spirited fight but fell to the Greenville
Hurricanes 42-36 in their home opener.  William Lawyer led the Panthers with
11 points on 3-3 shooting from 3-point land.  Cal Hucks recorded 8 points
and 8 rebounds while Paul Tate and Anderson Blevins led the way defensively
with 5 steals each.  The Panthers secured their first victory of the season
with a 56-38 victory over the Lowcountry Wildcats.  Blevins led the Panthers
with 15 points and 8 rebounds.  Hucks had 14 points and 10 rebounds , while
Danny Waller recorded 8 points in addition to 11 rebounds.  Lawyer was a
stat sheet stuffer with 8 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 7 steals.
Other scorers for the Panthers were Tate with 4 points, Seth McNulty with 5
points, and Grant Ihrie with 2 points.  The JV Panthers closed their
December schedule with a 56-50 loss to York Prep.  The Panthers trailed by
12 at halftime but rallied to close the gap to 3 points in the final
minutes.  Lawyer used 5-7 shooting from behind the 3-point line to lead the
Panthers with 15 points.  Waller added 12 points while Hucks did his usual
work on the glass pulling down 10 rebounds.  The JV Panthers are 1-3 on the

All three of the Panther teams will be back in action on January 3rd versus
the Easley Guardians in Easley.
