PAC Baseball Defeats Jefferson Davis Academy in Preseason Tournament

The PAC Panthers arrived in Blackville Thursday night to cross swords with the Raiders from Jefferson Davis for the first time.  Micah West got the start and pitched a great game, only allowing one infield hit in the seventh inning.  He had nine strikeouts and walked three.  He was relieved by David Hucks in the seventh who got a strikeout to end the game.

The Panthers were scoreless through three innings before they finally broke through in the top of the 4th inning.  Caleb Green singled, stole second base and scored on a single by David Hucks.  They took control of the game when they added four runs in the 5th inning.  Conner Shealy reached on an error with one out and his courtesy runner, Zach Thurber, reached second base on a single by Micaiah Hinkle.  Zach and Micaiah both scored on passed balls.  Avery drew a walk and McKinley Proctor reached on an error and Micah West singled to plate both of them.  The Panthers added their final run in the top of the 7th inning.  McKinley singled and stole second base.  He later scored on a single by David.

The Panthers had six hits in the game.  David Hucks had two singles and two RBI’s.  Others with hits were McKinley, Micah, Caleb and Micaiah.  The Panthers had five assists for the game and fourteen productive at bats.  The Panthers are 1-0 on the season.  Micah West’s pitching record is now 1-0.
