JV Baseball Beats Swansea High; Varsity Game Rained Out

In a rain shortened game, the Panther JV got revenge for a loss earlier in the season beating the JV Tigers from Swansea 5-3.  The Panthers jumped ahead in the 3rd inning, plating two runs on three hits and a walk.  The Tigers took the lead in the fifth inning by scoring three runs on one hit, two walks and one Panther error.  The Panthers scored two in the bottom of the fifth inning to retake the lead.  During that inning the Panthers had one walk, one hit and the Tigers right fielder made a critical error on a fly ball.  After holding the Tigers scoreless in the top of the sixth inning, the Panthers came back up to bat.  JC Ellis got on by error and Trevor Dacus laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt that allowed him to reach first base safely.  After a fly out, Anderson Blevins laid down, or should I say popped up, a squeeze bunt that went over the pitchers head allowing JC to score from third and Anderson to reach first base safely.  At that point, the heavens opened up forcing the umpires to call the game.  Clay Dickinson and Anderson Blevins both had two hits for the game.  JC Ellis pitched all six innings for the Panthers. He allowed two earned runs on three hits and four walks.  He struck out one on the day.  The JV team is now 12-4-1.

The varsity game against Swansea was rained out.
