PAC football concluded its 2015 season with a banquet befitting royalty. Over 130 people attended the evening’s event as the 2015 season was relived, players were honored and a special thanks was given. One of the highlights of the evening was an over 20 minute video set to music that highlighted many of the plays and players from the season. The MVP’s were announced as well as the Mr. Panther selections for the Middle School and Varsity Teams. The recipients of these awards as well as the video are listed on the football website which can be accessed by selecting Football under the SPORTS tab on Pacpanthers.com.
2015 was a record breaking year for PAC Football in many respects. The Middle School team posted the first winning season for the football program. Many individual records were set and some players raised the bar on the records they already held. The banquet was a night filled with fun and laughter, some ooohs and ahhs from the big hits and possibly even a moist eye or two as we honored our graduating seniors, Noah Diveley, Hunter Brown and Scott Budenbender.
The evening was also an opportunity to say Thank You to Clint Lawyer for his vision and dedication to PAC Football. Clint and Helen Lawyer have given freely and generously of their time and talents for the last 4 years to help establish and move PAC Football forward. The PAC Football program will continue to be thankful for all they have done for our sons and this program for many years to come.
For the 2016 Football Season, PAC Football will be transitioning to 8-man football. This decision has been made after much thought, consideration and prayer. We believe that playing 8-man football will permit our program to best utilize the numbers of athletes we have and strike a much needed balance between fielding competitive teams, keeping the game fun and ensuring the health and safety of the players entrusted to us. For 2016, Chris Robinson will be the Varsity Team head coach, Allen Gleaton will be the Middle School head coach and Stephen Hucks will serve as the Director of Football.
To kick off the program for 2016, we are holding a parents’ meeting at Northeast Presbyterian Church on December 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm. This meeting will discuss plans for the 2016 season, the needs of the program moving forward and opportunities to serve. If you have any interest in the 2016 PAC Football program, we would welcome your attendance.
