Panthers (JV) – 1 Gray Collegiate Academy – 16
The young Panther JV squad absorbed a body blow from Gray Collegiate Academy on Monday night at Bray Park losing 16-1. Gray Collegiate outhit the Panthers 11-2 while Panther pitching allowed seven free passes and Panther fielding committed five errors. You add all that up and the result is not very pretty for Panther fans.
This seems to be a good time to remind everyone that while the Panther Junior Varsity squad has some talented players, they are, overall, a young team starting three to five eighth graders on any given night so they are going to have some nights like this.
Gray Collegiate scored three runs in the first, two in the second, four in the third and seven runs in the fourth to end the game. White and Elijah Britton had the only two hits for the Panthers with Whit scoring on a passed ball.
Game Notes: The JV squad is now 1-2 on the year.
