Panthers Baseball (B-Team) Loses to Wilson Hall

Panthers (B-Team) – 3   Wilson Hall – 15

The young Panther team lost on Friday night to the Wilson Hall Barons 15-3.  After a relatively quiet first inning after which the Panthers trailed 1-0, the Barons took control of the game by plating five runs.  They scored seven more runs in the third inning to effectively end the game.  The Panthers scored two runs of their own in the bottom of the third as they tried to claw their way back into the game.  Avery Blevins singled with one out and advanced to second on a single by McKinley Proctor.  David Hucks, doubled with two outs driving in both Avery and McKinley.  The Barons added two runs in the top of the fifth and the Panthers scored once when McKinley scored after reaching base when he was hit by a pitch.  Jackson Gleaton drove in McKinley when he reached on an error by the Barons shortstop.  For the game, the Panthers had six hits and were led at the plate by Avery (two singles) and David (a double and a single).  Whit Melnyk and McKinley provided the other two hits.  David Hucks pitched the first two innings for the Panthers allowing six runs only one of which was earned.  He did not allow a hit but walked four.  He struck out three.  Jackson Gleaton then took to the mound and allowed seven runs (five earned) on four hits and two walks.  Avery Blevins finished the game on the mound for PAC going three innings.  He allowed two earned runs on one hit and one walk.  The Panthers B-Team is now 1-4.
