Panther Middle School Baseball falls to Falcons

Panthers (MS) 3                    Ben Lippen 18

In a tough game for the middle school Panthers on Thursday night, they fell prey to the Falcons from Ben Lippen.  Ben Lippen put this game away early scoring nine runs in the first inning.  They added two more in the second and another seven runs in the third.  The Panthers scored their runs in the second and third innings, scoring two and one respectively.  In the second, Noah Squires led off with a walk and Caleb Green singled.  Noah scored on an error and Caleb scored on a groundout by Samuel Leslie after an infield hit by Avery Blevins had advanced him to third.  The Panthers scored in the third when Nick Beach walked and later scored on an error. The Panthers had four hits (Blevins, Squires, Green and Micah West).  Three pitchers toed the rubber for the Panthers.  Caleb Green started the game pitching one third of an inning.  He allowed eight runs, three of which were earned.  Avery Blevins pitched one and two thirds innings, allowing three unearned runs.  David Hucks was the final pitcher, pitching one third of an inning allowing seven earned runs.  The Panthers get their chance for revenge next Thursday night when they face this same Ben Lippen squad.  The Panthers middle school team is now 1-2.
