Panther Baseball Splits with Richard Winn Academy

Providence (JV)  17                         Richard Winn  0

One a cool night in Winnsboro, South Carolina, the Panther JV squad continued its torrid run scoring pace by scoring 17 runs in three innings.  Over the past four games, the JV squad has scored sixty-six runs averaging almost 17 runs per game.  The Panthers banged out twelve hits during this game that was shortened due to the time restrictions and the huge lead that the Panthers had built.  JC Ellis, Daniel Barfield and Danny Waller all had two hits for the Panthers.  Danny’s hits included a bases clearing double.  Pat Brunson, Cal Hucks and Anderson Blevins all slammed doubles to aid the Panther cause.  JC Ellis pitched a no-hitter before the game was called after three innings.  He struck out six and walked two.

The Panthers lost a close game on Friday night against the Eagles from Richard Winn Academy.  Patrick Pope, the Eagle pitcher, was able to cool off the hot Panther bats limiting them to six hits.  Danny Morales and Jacob Cain both had two hits with Danny slamming out a triple to right center field.  This game was back and forth until the Eagles broke the tie by scoring two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to take the lead.  The Panthers got one runner on in the top of the 7th but were unable to score him and the game ended with the runner stranded at 3rd.  Josh Hanna started the game on the mound for the Panthers and James Reed finished.  They pitched well but were ultimately undone by seven walks, three of which scored
