Panther Baseball Falls to Ben Lippen

Panthers (B-Team) – 4   Ben Lippen – 8

The young Panthers (B-Team) lost to Ben Lippen 4-8.  The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning.  Avery Blevins led off with a single and scored when McKinley Proctor doubled into left center.  McKinley scored on a single by David Hucks and David scored from third later in the inning on a balk by the Falcon pitcher.  The Falcons retook the lead by plating four runs in the bottom of the first after Panther pitching walked the bases loaded.  The Panthers tied the game in the top of the second inning when Robert Hogg doubled and scored on a single by Avery Blevins.  Unfortunately the Panthers were done scoring even though they threatened in the third and fifth innings.  The Falcons scored two in the bottom of the second inning to retake the lead and then padded their lead by scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.  The Panthers actually outhit the Falcons (9-6) and were led at the plate by Avery and David who had two singles.  Others with hits included Whit Melnyk, McKinley Proctor (double), Jackson Gleaton, Samuel Leslie and Robert Hogg (double).  Avery Blevins started the game on the mound for PAC lasting three innings.  He gave up six runs only two of which were earned.  He struck out three, walked five and allowed five hits.  David Hucks pitched the final two innings allowing two unearned runs.  He gave up one hit and struck out one Falcon.  The Panthers B-Team is 1-5 on the season.

Panthers (JV) – 0              Ben Lippen – 7

The Panther JV baseball team fell to the Falcons from Ben Lippen 0-7 on Monday night.  The Panthers surrendered two runs in the first inning and five runs in the sixth inning.  The Falcons scored their first runs on the strength of a single, double, two walks and a Panther error.  After several scoreless innings, the Falcons padded their lead by adding the five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.  In this inning, the Falcons had four hits and the Panthers committed two errors.  The Panthers threatened in the third inning and sixth innings but could not push a run across.  Caleb Green had two singles for PAC and Tyler Thomason and Danny Waller added singles.  William Lawyer had a double for the Panthers.  Harry Baker doubled but was thrown out at third trying to stretch his hit into a triple.  Danny Waller started on the mound for the Panthers allowing two runs (one earned) in three innings.  He allowed five hits, walked two and struck out one.  William Lawyer pitched the final three innings allowing five runs but only one of which was earned.  He gave up four hits and one walk while striking out two Falcon batters.  The JV Panthers fall to 3-2.
