JV Panthers Pitch No Hitter Versus Easley Guardians.

The Panther JV squad won its first game of the year this Saturday, besting the Easley Guardians 3-1 on a nice day for baseball in Easley, South Carolina.  The Panthers jumped out to an early lead by plating one run in the top of the first inning.  Tyler Thomason led off with a single, stole second base and scored on a double by Danny Waller.  The Panthers plated another run in the third very similar to how they scored in the first.  Tyler led off the inning with a single, advancing to second on a wild pitch and scored on a base hit by Danny.  The Panthers scored their final run in the top of the fourth inning.  Austin “Stump” Coates reached on a fielder’s choice.  He advanced to second when Jacob Robinson drew a walk and scored on a single by Tyler.  The Guardians scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth without a hit.  The Panthers had five hits.  Tyler had three and Danny had the other two.  Tyler scored two runs and Danny had two RBI’s.  Danny Waller and William Lawyer threw a combined no hitter.  Danny pitched five innings, striking out eleven.  William pitched the final two innings and struck out two.  Combined the Panther hurlers only walked one batter.  The Panther JV squad is now 1-1 on the year.
