Panthers (JV) versus Wilson Hall – Rained Out

Panthers (V) 0                   Wilson Hall 4

The Panthers fell to the Barons from Wilson Hall in Sumter on Tuesday night by a score of 4-0.  This victory was Wilson Hall’s eighteenth win against zero losses in 2014.  The loss dropped PAC’s record to 13-5.  Quality pitching by the Baron’s limited the Panthers to two hits.  One was a line drive to right center field by Clay Dickinson and the other was a hit up the middle by Alex Blevins that the Baron’s pitcher got a glove on and deflected to the second baseman but they could not throw Alex out at first.  The Barons pitching stymied Panther batters all night; striking out fourteen and walking only one.  The Barons scored their first run on a solo home run to right center by Kemper Patton, the Baron’s right fielder.  The Barons added three more runs in the fifth inning when they got the bases loaded with no outs and managed to drive in all three runs with a couple of singles and a fielder’s choice.  The Panthers played solid defense all night with Jacob Cain making several nice plays at second base and Alex Blevins making a great sliding catch in center field.  Jake Brunson was the starting pitcher against the Barons.  He pitched four and one third innings allowing four runs but only three of which were earned.  He only allowed two hits and struck out six.  Daniel Reed relieved Jake on the mound pitching the final one and two thirds innings.  He allowed no runs and two hits while striking out one.  The Panthers look to establish a new win record next Monday night when they take on the Cardinals from Cardinal Newman
