Panthers (B-Team) – 3   Orangeburg Prep – 4      (Game #1)

The Panther cubs lost a close game when the Indians from Orangeburg Prep scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to edge out PAC 4-3. The Indians scored two in the first inning to take the lead on two hits.

The Panthers fought back by scoring one run in the second when Billy Amick doubled and scored on a passed ball. They took the lead in the third inning when Samuel Reed was walked, advanced to second on a stolen base and to third on a passed ball and then scored on a groundout by Cameron Duke.  Andrew French then reached on an error and scored on another hit by Billy Amick.

This is all the scoring the Panthers would do in this game but the Indians were not done yet. They scored a run in the fourth inning when an Indian batter reached on a walk and then scored on a double by their leadoff hitter (Layton).  They won the game in the fifth with the Indians right fielder (Fogle) driving in the winning run.

The Panthers only had three hits, all by Billy Amick. Will Owens pitched three innings for PAC giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits.  He was followed to the mound by Samuel Reed who pitched one inning, allowing one earned run on one hit.  Billy Amick gave up the final run to Orangeburg Prep on two hits.

The Panthers (B-Team) are now 5-5.
